This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the University of Kentucky‘s DanceBlue dance marathon. If you’re not familiar with the dance marathon idea, it’s 24 hours of non-stop dancing to raise money, often for childhood cancer. For DanceBlue specifically, the proceeds go to the University of Kentucky Pediatric Oncology Clinic’s Golden Matrix Fund. The fund “was created to benefit the University of Kentucky Pediatric Oncology Clinic patients and families. Childhood cancer not only affects the child physically, but it also creates many emotional and financial difficulties for the entire family (DanceBlue website).”
To top things off, this year’s DanceBlue raised over $800,000! That’s amazing!
I had a wonderful time seeing such outpouring of passion, support, and enthusiasm from the UK students. Thanks for a great weekend, and keep dancing “FOR THE KIDS!”
