As you may have seen from a previous post (aka, the opening of Scotty’s Lakehouse in Geist), I’m quite a fan of the Scotty’s Brewhouse franchise as a whole, and tend to follow what all is going on their ever-expanding company. The food is always good and the hours are always accommodating for a photographer who likes to pretend he’s a night-owl. With that, a few months ago I discovered that owner Scott Wise had a new project up his sleeves, and it sounded like it wasn’t going to be anything like Brewhouse or Lakehouse. It was actually going to be a brewery/restaurant combination. Fortunately, I was able to attend their VIP soft opening this weekend and to get a glimpse and taste of the new Broad Ripple attraction. Check past the break to read on!
Hope you’re all having a wonderful Christmas season (or whichever December holiday you choose to celebrate). Enjoy the company of your family and friends, and I look forward to a wonderful 2011! (A couple more silly pics after the break)
I LOVE THESE HAHHA we had so much fun taking them!!! Merry Christmas!
Those are amazing shoes! Merry Christmas, even if its Jan already!
Aliy, they’re Jimmy Choo’s. Ambria picked them out herself, haha.
With 2010 winding down, I’ve decided to compile some of my favorite images from this wonderful year. It’s been the busiest, most exciting year that I’ve ever had doing photography. I’ve watched some wonderful people who are madly in love with each other tie the knot, I’ve picked up the job as photographer for IUPUI’s Kelley School of Business, and I watched as Brebeuf Volleyball made another exciting run for the state championship. With that, I’ve posted a number next to each photo after the break. What I want you guys to do is vote for your absolute favorite image from the crop and put that number in a comment at the end of the post. The image that receives the most votes will be determined around Thanksgiving, and a $100 gift certificate toward that print will be presented to whomever that photo belongs to (i.e. a wedding photo will go to the bride and groom, etc). Click the break below and start checkin’ em out!
Love ‘em all! Too hard to pick just one……#’s 1,22,23,27,30, and Sloane White!!
Clearly I’m gonna have to go with #9 as the best picture of the year :-)Ryan & Christine wedding #9
I love every photo, but if i had to choose just one…i would go with #26 Graham and Monica’s wedding
23!
#23.
27!!
Voting for #9!
#10!
#9 !!
10 of course!!!! Sorry Ryan
10 Who else would your favorite uncle vote for?
#23!! It was really hard up until that point though, since there were so many good ones.
My favorite was 23 but I also liked 2,8,19,27,30 and 41
#24 of course!!!
Numbers 8, 12, 36, 37 and 38. Those are my kids; of course they’re the best. All the pics are great. Jon, you do fine work !
21 and 30…30 is pulling ahead slightly for me.
#20 and #23
They are all really good but I have to say #23 is my favorite.
10 – Ryan & Christine Wedding
#10
I have to say #23 is probably my favorite. I liked #27 and #21! Very good work!
Definitely #30!! and 31….. how sweet
I do not believe #23 is the best picture because it is merely just a picture of a girl flipping her hair in a pool. I would definitely say that the best picture from Jon Brewer Photography would be #25 with the gentlemen. It shows personality and character of the subjects and the picture has great composition. Great job, Jon!
Although it’s not the outcome any of us were expecting or hoping for (unless your hometown is Bellmont, IN), I know everyone I was with is incredibly proud of your season’s worth of work. Thanks, in part, to the influence of assistant coach, Liz Simonson, I’ve definitely become a Brebeuf volleyball fan a couple years running now. For the seniors, best wishes in college, and to those returning next season, I look forward to another chance to see a state champion’s banner in the gymnasium at Brebeuf. Here’s some photos from Saturday’s action.
This weekend, I had the pleasure of being able to fly down to Austin, TX for the first time to photograph engagement pics for Eric Vaughan and Shannon Lewis. Man, let me tell you…the food down there is amazing. I’m still nursing a food baby several days after flying home. I’m definitely going to have to make a trip back for some more authentic tex-mex. Also, I’m sure many of you are wondering how I met with a couple from Austin, TX when I’ve never even been there. Well, Eric is from Indy and a fellow Purdue alum, and not to mention I had the honor of photographing his sister, Carla’s, wedding this past June (link here).
And what’s even better is the wedding isn’t in Austin. Nor in Indianapolis. Eric and Shannon are getting married in beautiful Arlington, VA (Shannon’s family lives in the area), with a reception in Washington, D.C.! Needless to say, this is going to be one exciting wedding! I can’t wait for June 25, 2011 to roll around, but in the meantime, let’s all enjoy these fun engagement photos!
Awesome photos Jon! Can’t wait to see the rest. The 6th photo was taken near the top of Mt Bonnell, the tallest point in Austin.
Do you know of any way I could contact Eric? Or could you pass on my email address to him and have him contact me? thanks!
I’ll be sure to.
